Clinical space design

Every square foot in a medical practice is a clinical decision.

Bedside Studio pairs physician-reviewed workflow expertise with hospitality-grade interior design, so boutique and concierge practices can build a space patients trust and staff can actually work in.

The gap

Two people look at the same floor plan and see two different rooms.

What a designer sees

Light, material, brand, and flow — a space that should feel like a retreat, not a waiting room.

What a physician sees

Sightlines, sterile supply access, ADA clearance, HIPAA-safe intake, staff movement under load.

Most practices get one of these. Very few get both — and the ones that do are the ones patients remember, and recommend.

What we do

Two ways in.

01 — The Audit

Workflow & Experience Review

Send us your floor plan — existing or proposed. A physician-reviewed audit flags workflow, compliance, and patient-experience issues before you break ground, with a prioritized list of what to fix and why.

Turnaround
5–7 business days
Investment
$1,500–$5,000 flat

02 — Design & Build

Full Project Coordination

We run point between you, an interior designer matched to your specialty, contractors, and equipment vendors — from first sketch through opening day.

Timeline
3–9 months
Investment
10–15% of build budget

How it works

From floor plan to opening day.

  1. 01

    Audit

We review your space against clinical workflow and accessibility standards, calibrated to your specialty.

  2. 02

    Match

You're paired with an interior designer from our network suited to your specialty, scale, and budget.

  3. 03

    Build

We coordinate design, construction, and compliance sign-off so nothing gets built twice.

  4. 04

    Walkthrough

A pre-opening walkthrough against the original audit, plus an optional annual refresh.

A sample of what the audit checks

30″×48″min. clear floor space at every exam table
60″ ⌀wheelchair turning diameter
32″min. clear door width, open to 90°
17–19″accessible exam table height

Baseline figures per the ADA Standards for Accessible Design. Every audit is calibrated to your specialty, equipment, and local code — this is the floor, not the whole review.

Why we partner with physicians

Every audit gets a physician's eyes on it before it goes out.

Bedside Studio was founded by Charles Griffiths, a business major who grew up around Watson Medical, his father's anesthesiology practice, and saw up close how often a clinic gets designed by people who've never actually worked the floor plan they're drawing.

Interior designers are trained to read light, material, and brand. They are rarely trained to read a code cart's turning radius, a sterile field's line of sight, or how a front desk sightline affects patient privacy. That's why every Bedside Studio audit is reviewed by a physician advisor before it reaches the client — then handed to designers who specialize in making clinical spaces feel like they weren't designed by a committee.
